I am Veronika, a contemporary artist based in the UK.
My works are built on metaphors, irony, and wordplay. I merge everyday situations with larger ideas – so that the familiar begins to feel unsettling, and the tragic takes on a touch of comedy.
The visual language I use is often simple and concise, yet beneath it lie layers of meaning and unexpected associations. Each piece is a kind of visual riddle, an interactive game with the viewer. The experience unfolds in stages: first comes an intuitive impression – the colour, the form – then a mental shift toward the question why? what for?, followed by the attempt to interpret.
This journey may lead to a solution or leave the viewer in a state of ambiguity – and that, too, is part of the intention. What matters to me is not imposing meaning, but creating a space for imagination, associations, and personal interpretation.
Even if the viewer doesnโt arrive at a definitive answer, they still go through an emotional journey – from quiet irony to uneasy recognition, from confusion to the pleasure of discovery.
